A Gorgeous Day for a Wedding in San Luis Obispo

Have you ever heard of the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo? Yeah... my husband hadn't either. So he had no clue what he was in for when we pulled into the parking lot after a four hour drive from Northern California. "Why is everything pink?" - such a guy. Everything is pink because it's AWESOME, hello!

The Madonna Inn is a themed hotel where every room is different. I am horrible at remembering to take detailed photos on vacation, so I totally forgot to take photos of our cool room! It was hokey and totally 70's with orange leather couches. The room next to us has everything in bright ass pink. They have a caveman room, a jungle room, so many cool themes! The food was bomb, the sights were gorgeous, and the pool? Don't even get me started. I'm going back. It's happening.

We only stayed one night, but it was long enough for me to fall in love with SLO and Avila Beach. We took an Uber to the venue, Pepper Tree Ranch, and holy crap you guys- talk about a dream wedding location! Sprawling hills of vineyards, a gorgeous rustic barn, probably the best Photo Booth ever, even a treehouse bar. Literally. In a tree. It was awesome. Everything about their wedding was perfection (not pictured: the hard root beer floats, the delicious food, the open bar, and everything else I was too busy having fun to photograph) including the bride and her freaking gorgeous dress, hair, makeup... Brigitte nailed her wedding day in every way.

We spent the next morning in Avila Beach enjoying the unobstructed view of the ocean and picking out our future home on Zillow. Like I said... we'll be back.

Congratulations to Derek and Brigitte on the beautiful next chapter of their love story, we love you!
